About the book
Dreamscape 2032 is a steampunk fantasy world drawn to be coloured. Floating cities held up by nothing you can explain. Gears the size of a room, and gears the size of a coin. Machines built by someone who clearly enjoyed building them. People dressed for an age that never quite happened. Every illustration is original and drawn at high resolution, so the fine detail survives the print instead of turning to mud.
This is a colouring project, not a puzzle. There is no right answer and nothing to solve. The line work is dense enough to hold your attention for a long sitting and open enough that a single page can be finished in one. Readers describe it as the part of the evening where the phone goes face down.
There are two ways in. The Sampler is eight pages, and it exists so you can find out whether this style suits your hand before you commit to the large book. The Collector's Edition is the full journey, 52 detailed plates, printed large on single sided pages so nothing bleeds through and every finished plate can be cut out and framed.
Both books are printed at 8.5 by 11 inches on single sided pages. Pencils, markers, crayons, gel pens and fineliners all work. The paper was chosen so that a marker does not ruin the plate on the other side, which is the usual complaint about colouring books and the reason these are printed one side only.
It is drawn for teenagers and adults. There is nothing in it a younger child should not see, but the detail is fine enough that small hands tend to find it frustrating rather than relaxing.

Work from the middle of a plate outward. The dense areas set the colour scheme, and it is easier to match the open areas to them than the other way round.
Single sided pages mean you can cut a finished plate out. Several readers frame them, so it is worth deciding your palette before you start rather than halfway through.
